Meet Linda from TGC Forth Valley

linda from tgc forth valley

Tidy Green Clean Forth Valley has a well-trained and professional team of cleaning operatives, led by our Cleaning Supervisors who support their staff using the TGC values and standards our clients demand and expect. One of our Cleaning Supervisors is Linda who explains her role, ambitions and expectations working for Tidy Green Clean Forth Valley.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself

I am married with two children and live in South Lanarkshire. I have been cleaning for 15 years doing jobs such as car showrooms, children’s nurseries, offices, and private house cleaning prior to working for TGC.  I am a Cleaning Supervisor for Tidy Green Clean Forth Valley.

2. What do you enjoy about the job and why do you think good cleaning is so important?

My cleaning work varies from day to day and I get to meet lots of different people because I work in different places with different circumstances.  I get a lot of job satisfaction from cleaning and really feel what I do makes a difference to people. It is always especially satisfying when people comment on the standard of my work.

I also believe that in the present climate of Covid-19 cleanliness, cleaning has become a much more important factor in people’s lives.

3. How long have you worked for TGC Forth Valley? Why did you chose us and what do you enjoy about the challenges of a supervisory role?

I started at TGC in September 2020. I chose to work for TGC because the cleaning requirements were local to me and the job description fitted in with what I needed and my own abilities.

I enjoy working for TGC as I am given clear guidelines on what is expected of me but also I have the flexibility to plan and carry out my role as well. TGC provides everything I need and has good support and communication. plus I have weekly meets (and monthly audits) with the regional director to discuss issues and any updates on what is happening in the company generally.  My main challenge as a supervisor is to raise standards further while keeping my team encouraged and happy in their work.

4. Why are Tidy Green Clean’s values about people and the environment important to you?

I agree with TGC’s Green stance and I like the fact that we use environmentally friendly products and practices to minimise our impact on the environment. It’s also important to me that our ethos is about being kinder to people and the planet.

I think that staff are the most important people in any business and when it comes to cleaners we are, and should be, considered as key workers for any company who needs a cleaning service.

5. What would you like to see happen in the future for you at TGC?

I would like to see TGC expand and see the business – and my role – grow and see the employees benefit from the success, as they will be key to delivering that growth.
