In 2020, TGC Aberdeen West was awarded a 10-month project at its £5.8M 44 Affordable Homes new build site at Portsoy for a local housing association.
The build took place during the Covid-19 pandemic and the client was extremely keen to maintain high standards of hygiene as part of its duty of care to builders and associated trades and other personnel working at the site. In addition, the 44 properties had to be handed over to their client in an immaculate, ready-to-move in condition.
Tidy Green Clean Aberdeen West’s Regional Director, Callum Cruickshank and team were awarded a 40-hour weekly contract for a Welfare Cleaning Operative to be on site Monday – Friday to assist in meeting the Covid legislation. Their role was to help the construction workers continue to be able to build during the pandemic by ensuring areas of heavy traffic and high touch points were cleaned and sanitised throughout the day, and a high general standard of cleaning was maintained daily as well. This included regular cleaning of restrooms, canteen cleaning management, office cleaning and other duties.
TGC Aberdeen West was also awarded the Builder’s/Sparkle Clean contract for the whole development. As each property was completed, our team cleaned it to prepare for the snagging period. Once that had been done, the cleaning team went in a second team for the sparkle clean, ready for the client handover.
Tidy Green Clean also provided full HSEQ documents, ISO accreditation certification, RAMS, Method Statements and a other process and technical data, which played a significant role in the decision to award them the contract.
At tender stage, Tidy Green Clean’s pitch was that it was a reputable, highly professional and thorough organisation and it fully lived up to these claims. When the contract started, the client had great confidence in the way the Welfare Clean was provided on site, with TGC’s operative ensuring they conducted themselves in a friendly, professional and diligent manner at all times. The Builder’s/Sparkle Clean teams also performed to an exemplary level and this ensured TGC’s client could hand over the properties to their customer in full confidence that they had delivered everything that was promised.
