We are proud to announce that Tidy Green Clean has been officially certified Carbon Negative for the fifth year in a row, an achievement verified by Carbon Zero. This continued recognition underlines our long-standing commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices, and genuine environmental impact.
Our latest report reveals that emissions from waste accounted for just 0.1% of our overall carbon footprint, a testament to the efficiency and environmental consciousness of our operations.
Being carbon negative means we don’t just neutralise our carbon emissions, we go further by actively removing more carbon from the atmosphere than we emit. This achievement aligns perfectly with TGC’s core environmental ethos: to create a cleaner, greener future through responsible, ethical, and forward-thinking business choices.
“We believe that sustainability isn’t just an add-on, it’s a fundamental part of how we operate,” said David Moncur, Operations Director at Tidy Green Clean. “Achieving Carbon Negative status again this year reflects our deep commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and supporting the communities we serve, both locally and globally.”
As part of our carbon offsetting strategy, TGC has chosen to support the Community Hand Pumps Project in Zambia, a carbon credit initiative that aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
This project addresses the pressing issue of safe water access in rural Zambia, where less than 50% of the population currently has access to clean water. By rehabilitating and maintaining borehole handpumps, the project helps communities access safe groundwater, significantly reducing the reliance on unsafe sources like streams and hand-dug wells.
In addition to providing clean drinking water, the initiative:
This initiative not only offsets our carbon emissions in a meaningful way but also brings long-lasting benefits to vulnerable communities, a combination that reflects our holistic approach to sustainability.
At Tidy Green Clean, we recognise that climate responsibility is an ongoing journey. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to measuring, reducing, and offsetting our emissions, and we will keep looking for opportunities to make a positive impact on both people and planet.
Thank you to all our clients, franchisees, and partners for supporting our mission and sharing our values. Together, we’re proving that sustainable business is not only possible — it’s powerful.
