I am very close to my family – that’s my mum, stepdad, two sisters and my younger brother. I also have a little girl. She is my everything and always keeps me on my toes when I’m not working. I live in the Possilpark area in Glasgow and have been living there nearly two years now. I have spent 14 years this month working in one large department store in Glasgow as a cleaner and I also clean another well-known retail store as well
I have always enjoyed my role as a cleaner and I always aim to give 100% in everything I do. I take a lot of pride in my job; I always make sure and like to keep on top of my work and have it to the highest standards at all times. I think good cleaning is always important and it makes me feel proud when I hear members of staff or customers compliment me on my work; it’s a great feeling.
I started working for TGC in July 2021 and time has really flown by. I chose TGC because it’s a company I had never heard of before and thought I’d give it a try – and I am glad I did. It’s a great company to work for and I really enjoy working for TGC as I have never had any problems or issues in all the time I have worked for them. In the past, other companies have treated me poorly, which seems to happen in this industry. I love working in the retailer I do as the staff are brilliant. They all made me feel so welcome on my first day and now class me as part of their team; we are all like a family working together in the store and it’s always a pleasure working with and cleaning for the store team.
I agree with taking a stance as an environmentally friendly company and I think it’s really good for everyone now going forward. I am happy to be involved with a company who put this at the heart of what they do.
I would like to still be working cleaning with TGC for their customer and maybe getting involved in new opportunities or jobs with the company in the future. I am excited to see what the year has in store working with TGC and I am very grateful for the role with Hugh and his team and for them giving me the job. They have put their trust in me to do my job to the best of my ability and this has meant a lot – they are a great company.
